Union Minister Piyush Goyal Launches LEAPS 2025 to Drive Logistics Excellence in India

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, unveiled the Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, coinciding with the 4th anniversary celebrations of PM GatiShakti.

LEAPS 2025, a flagship initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is designed to benchmark logistics excellence, enhance India’s global competitiveness and further the vision of the National Logistics Policy (NLP) and PM GatiShakti.

The program aims to recognize leadership, innovation and best practices across India’s logistics ecosystem. It spans a wide range of stakeholders including air, road, sea and rail freight operators, warehousing providers, multimodal transporters, MSMEs, startups and academic institutions.

A key focus of LEAPS 2025 is sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices, promoting green logistics and encouraging collaboration between the government, industry and academia. The initiative seeks to improve efficiency, transparency and resilience across the logistics value chain.

Speaking at the launch, Shri Piyush Goyal remarked:
“LEAPS 2025 marks a milestone in India’s logistics journey, recognizing the efforts of stakeholders in boosting efficiency and effectiveness nationwide.”

With LEAPS 2025, India positions itself on a path to becoming a global logistics powerhouse, fostering innovation, sustainability and operational excellence across its transport and supply chain sectors.
